Pomerol
du Manoir de Noli

Born on July 15, 2019
Parents: Novak du Filon & Noli du Clos D'Eugénie

Pomerol is a blue and white British Shorthair male of medium size with very nice proportions. He has a big thick coat and a very nice expression that comes from his grandmother Ivanna. The resemblance between them is striking. The ears are quite small, well set, the eyes are large and round of a color that could be more intense.

On the character side, he has a strong personality while being very sociable with his fellows. It only starts his role of breeding cat because it is a late lineage on both maternal and paternal sides.

Pomerol came into the world thanks to my collaboration with several breeder friends.

His father is Novak du Filon d’Or who was born at my friend Pascale’s home in Angoulême, France. Her mother is Noli du Clos d’Eugénie who lives with Charlotte in Angoulême too. Charlotte had a small cattery for two years where Pomerol was born. I am very happy about it because it will allow me to keep the descendants of Ivanna des Grenadines de Celan and Horacio Bonibrit that I will present to you in this page and who were my breeding cats several years ago.

Pomerol currently lives with Pascale. I’m looking forward to see his first kittens born there this year. One of his daughters will join the Clos d’Eugénie.

Pomerol will also be married to Radieuse Miss this year.

Pomerol is also the occasion to talk about the Longhair gene.
Pomerol is also the occasion to talk about the Longhair gene.

There is a Shorthair gene and a Longhair gene. The Shorthair gene dominates the Longhair gene.

Therefore, there are three possibilities:

  • British Longhair: The cat receives the Longhair gene from both parents.

  • British Shorthair pure Shorthair: The cat receives the Shorthair gene from both parents.

  • British Shorthair carrier Longhair: The cat receives from one parent the Shorthair gene and from one parent the Longhair gene.

Pomerol is a British Shorthair Longhair carrier. As he carries the Longhair gene, he could have British Longhair kittens in his litters if he is married with :

  • a female Longhair,

  • or a British Shorthair female Longhair carrier.

As far as I am concerned, I wish to have British Shorthair kittens. To achieve this, I always try to promote mates with at least one pure Shorthair parent. As the Shorthair gene is dominant, with only one pure Shorthair parent all kittens are Shorthair.

Maternal grandparents: Ivanna and Horacio

Pomerol is the grandson on the maternal side of 2 breeding cats who have marked my cattery: Ivanna des Grenadines de Celan and Horacio Bonibrit.

Ivanna
des Grenadines de Celan

Born on September 20, 2013
Parents: JJ & Humphrey

Ivanna was born in Bretagne, France, in a cattery of a breeder with a lifelong passion for British. As soon as she was born, I fell in love with this love doll and when she arrived at home, I discovered a little female with a strong personality and a very nice look.

She was a wonderful mother during few years and had beautiful litters. She gave birth to several solid and bicolor small kittens, Shorthair and Longhair. Today her lineage is preserved by Pomerol who look alike her very much both in look and character.

Horacio Bonibrit

Born on August 5, 2015
Parents: Lady Nica & Perseus

Horacio arrived from Lithuania with Gloria at the end of 2015. He was very promising as he was from a pure British Blue Shorthair line at a time when I wanted to specialize in British Blue Shorthair.

He should have been the father of all my kittens in 2017 but he had only one love, Ivanna. I never knew why no other marriage was successful. He took early retirement and joined a great family. His daughter Noli went to a young breeder, Charlotte. Noli is the mother of Pomerol.
